Venice : City of Water - Part I

11 - 12 June 2011

Location : Venice, Italy
(Part I)

Took the afternoon train from Milan to Venice, the journey was 2.5 hours. Enjoyed the Italian countryside views as the train passed by a few cities while on the way to Venice. Reached Venice late afternoon. Stopped at Venezia Santa Lucia's station. (Venice consists of 2 parts - 1 part is an island, while the other is the mainland).

In the train heading to Venice Santa Lucia station. So excited to see water!

At Venice Santa Lucia train station

This was the view as soon as I stepped out of the Ferrovia (Train station).

Straightaway needed to take sampan over to the hotel. I'm kidding. Ferry bus, I mean.

Ferry arrived!

Lunchtime!

A big Pizza Magherita all by myself (it's a plain pizza with mozarella cheese and tomato paste yums)

My hotel in Domus Ciliota, about RM360/night, bed & breakfast, considered cheap as compared to other hotel prices ranging from RM500 - RM1k per night in Venice.

It's clean and quite spacious for a single room

I love the Meditteranean music played by random street musicians.
